Adobe reader icon missing pro#
If, like me, you're using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, as you seemed to indicate in your initial post, the file should be renamed, exactly: .plist and placed in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/DC/Preferences/ also in accordance with the Adobe instructions. You now need to rename the file in accordance with the Adobe instructions, depending upon the version of Acrobat or Reader you are using, I provided in my first response, then move the file to the appropriate directory inside /Library/Application Support/Adobe/. plist file with the name "AcrobatPrefsFile" will now be on your Desktop. Press and this will create the file on your Desktop, quit vim, and return to the usual Terminal prompt. Press and release the "esc" key (Escape). Everything else is just standard XML notation. Aside from the headers and footers, the "money" is in the section, which sets the showTitleBarIcon to true. You will have to enter your Administrator password.

Open Terminal, then open the vim editor and create the file by typing: You can create the file on your Desktop (just to have someplace to put it temporarily and to name it something) pretty easily:
Adobe reader icon missing pdf#
That icon has disappeared and now all i see is the title of the pdf document in the window pane but no little draggable pdf. That same icon used to exist with adobe acrobat pro dc before this update. For example, next to the title of a saved word document or excel document, there is a little word or excel icon and that icon is draggable into any other window or email. I tried to see if other applications also lost there little icons like word or excel and they have not. this is a huge hit to productivity and is just generally annoying. I only use word and PDF (i am an attorney). My only work around is to locate the file path in finder and then drag and drop from finder but that is really inconvenient and time consuming. since upgrading to catalina, that draggable icon (so that i can drag the file into an email or folder) has no disappeared. When you save a document on there, before catalina, at the very top next to the title of the document, there was a draggable pdf icon. I used to be able to DRAG the little adobe icon (which would then drag the file) anywhere else on my system. Spent 2 hours on the phone with adobe tech support
